Shop Small This Weekend

Hello everybody. If you’re in the USA I hope you had a great Thanksgiving. My husband and I got to host this year. We worked together to clean the house and cook turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, salad, carrots, corn, potato casserole, and pumpkin pies. His mom brought some homemade bread which rounded out our nice spread. Yum! Here’s a picture of my brother-in-law loading his plate.

Now that everybody’s onto eating pie for breakfast and looking up recipes for leftover turkey it’s time to turn our attention to holiday shopping. I’d like to encourage you to shop small businesses this year. I’ll be featuring some of my favorite small businesses today through Cyber Monday on the quiltartbymegan Facebook Page. “Like” and follow me over there to learn about great entrepreneurs and to shop their deals.

Of course, there are some great deals in my etsy shop too. Everything in there is now 30% off. You don’t need a coupon code as I’ve adjusted each price individually to reflect the sale. Easy peasy!

Craft Booth Confidence

Here are the photographs from my booth on November 13th. I finally found that camera! I’ve set up a few other booths in my day like the guild boutique at a quilt show and guild opportunity quilt at the rubber duckie race. (Yes, that’s a thing. It was pretty cute but not so good for ticket sales on the quilt.) Anyway, with those experiences under my belt I had a pretty good idea of how I wanted my tables to look. I started out by getting to the meeting room extra early and draping the tables with bed sheets.

Next I tried to make all of the quilts fit on the table. There was quite a big of adjusting at this stage as I wanted their motifs to still be seen even with the overlapping. If I had decided to add a third table it would’ve been ridiculously long and I would have been running sprints to talk to customers on either end. booth setup 2 Hey, are those customers’ legs? Why yes, I think they are. 🙂 You can see I filled in the other items on top of the table: purses, pillows, bibs, and table runners. I ran out of table room for the Christmas Tree Skirts so they’re to the left on stacked boxes. It’s not perfect but I’m proud.booth setup 3Being proud of my setup and art helped me find the confidence to self-promote. I could put aside my introvert side for a few hours and speak as the artist-in-residence, business owner, expert. I can hold off on buying this t-shirt. 🙂 sorry i'm awkward sorry

Have a great Thanksgiving everybody!

Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday are coming up in a few days. There are some great gifts and deals in my Etsy shop. Be sure to check it out! I’ll be adding more items as they’re ready, including an I-Spy quilt that’s being bound tonight.

I specialize in custom projects. Do you have someone or something special in mind? Let’s talk! mrs.megan.null @ gmail.com I’m being very productive these days so the waiting list is getting shorter. It’s likely I’ll have your project done by the holidays, if that’s what you’d like.
